District 202 high schools announce dates for annual madrigal concerts

District 202 high schools will hold their annual Madrigal Concerts in December, with each school offering its own event and performances.

Plainfield High School-Central Campus is scheduled to present its 47th annual Madrigal Performance at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, December 5, and Saturday, December 6, 2025. The concerts will take place in the school's auditorium at 24120 W. Fort Beggs Drive, Plainfield. The program will feature music from the Madrigal Singers, Madrigal Instrumentalists, and for the first time, combined performances by Bel Canto and VoiceMale acapella groups. Tickets are $10 and include dessert and wassail. Reserved tickets can be purchased at https://pchsmusic.ludus.com/index.php.

Plainfield South High School will stage “Two princesses. One crown. A Yuletide showdown of music, manners and mayhem in the Southern Kingdom!” at 6 p.m. on Saturday, December 6, and at 2 p.m. on Sunday, December 7, 2025. These performances will be held in the school's auditorium at 7800 W. Caton Farm Road, Plainfield. General admission tickets cost $10; Blue House student tickets are $5. Plainfield North High School presents “Castle Castaways: A Madrigal Concert” at 7 p.m. on Friday, December 12, and Saturday, December 13, in its auditorium located at 12005 S. 248th Ave., Plainfield. Tickets are available for $5 through https://pnhschoirs.ludus.com.

Plainfield East High School will host its Madrigal Performance with a meal included at both afternoon (1:30 p.m.) and evening (6:30 p.m.) shows on Saturday, December 13, as well as Sunday, December 14, in the auditorium located at 12001 S. Naperville Road, Plainfield.

“Join us for the Madrigal Performances in the banquet hall!” organizers stated.

Attendees are advised to carefully read instructions included with the ticket form as seating charts will be arranged by directors to accommodate attendees.

Plainfield East High School serves students in grades nine through twelve and had an enrollment of over two thousand during the 2019-2020 academic year according to Illinois Report Card data (https://www.illinoisreportcard.com/). The school’s population is diverse: approximately forty-two percent white students; sixteen percent black students; twenty-six percent Hispanic students; and eleven percent Asian students as reported by Illinois Report Card (https://www.illinoisreportcard.com/School.aspx?schoolid=560992020220004).
