The Plainfield School District 202 Foundation for Excellence has begun accepting applications for its 2026 scholarship program. Applications must be submitted by March 15, 2026.

This year’s scholarship cycle includes two new awards honoring the memories of Carla Altum and Thomas A. Hernandez. These scholarships are available alongside other existing awards managed by the Foundation.

Additionally, the High School Junior Horizon Summer Learning Grant is now open to applicants, with a deadline of April 10, 2026.

Plainfield East High School serves students in grades 9 through 12 and had an enrollment of 2,162 during the 2019-2020 school year. The student population included approximately 24 percent in grade 11, while grade 10 had the largest share at about one-quarter of all students (https://www.illinoisreportcard.com/). The school is located in Plainfield within Will County (https://www.illinoisreportcard.com/).

Demographic data from the same period shows that Plainfield East High School’s student body was composed of roughly 42 percent white students, nearly 16 percent black students, about 26 percent Hispanic students, and close to 11 percent Asian students (https://www.illinoisreportcard.com/).
