The Plainfield School District Foundation for Excellence has opened nominations for its 16th annual Alumni Hall of Fame, which recognizes graduates from District 202 who have made significant contributions in their professional fields and communities. Nominations are open to anyone in the District 202 community and must be submitted by January 13, 2026.

"The Alumni Hall of Fame honors graduates who exemplify excellence, leadership, and service beyond their high school years. Established in 2011, the program is a proud tradition that showcases the accomplishments of District 202 alumni and promotes a culture of inspiration for today’s students," according to the Foundation.

Nominees should have demonstrated notable achievement, service, or leadership at local, regional, national, or international levels. The nomination categories include arts and entertainment; business and commerce; community service and volunteerism; education and humanities; government and military; medicine and health; philanthropy and non-profit; science and technology; as well as sports and recreation.

Eligibility requires nominees to have graduated from a District 202 high school at least two decades ago or from Plainfield High School before the district was established. Exceptions may be made for those who entered the military before graduation or under special circumstances. Posthumous nominations are also accepted.

Anyone affiliated with District 202—including alumni, staff, faculty, administrators, or residents—can submit a nomination. Forms are available at www.d202foundation.org under “Awards and Programs” on desktop or “More” on mobile devices.

A panel of Foundation Trustees will review all submissions. Selected inductees will be recognized during the Foundation’s annual Dinner and Luxury Bingo event scheduled for April 16, 2026 at Bolingbrook Golf Club. More information about past inductees can be found at www.d202foundation.org.

Since its founding in 1983, the Plainfield School District Foundation for Excellence has invested nearly $1.2 million in support of students and educators through grants, scholarships, art galleries, and leadership programs within District 202 schools such as Plainfield East High School.

Plainfield East High School serves grades nine through twelve with an enrollment of over two thousand students during the 2019-2020 academic year. The student body is diverse: approximately 42 percent white students, nearly 26 percent Hispanic students, around 16 percent black students, and almost eleven percent Asian students (https://www.illinoisreportcard.com/).
