Seventy-six musicians from District 202 high schools will participate in the Southwest Prairie Conference Honor Band Festival on February 18, 2025. The event is scheduled to take place at Plainfield High School-Central Campus.
The festival will showcase two bands: a freshman/sophomore band and a junior/senior band. These honor bands consist of selected students from twelve different schools. They will collaborate with guest educators from the University of Illinois and Illinois State University throughout the day. The festival will culminate in a free performance at 7 p.m.
The participating students from Plainfield High School-Central Campus include Craven Andaya, Matthew Bjorklund, Owen Cortese, Jonah Francois, Ethen Hare, Michael Kazak, Elizabeth Kistinger, Ayden LaPier, Grace Newberry, Zoe Strange for the Junior/Senior Honor Band and Emmy Carpio, Will Carter, Aiden Churchill, Anthony Gerges, David Gerges, Spencer Kazak, Max Madonia, Christian Mikos, Antoni Wiechec for the Freshman/Sophomore Honor Band.
From Plainfield South High School: Kamryn Cook, Katelyn Cook, Amelia Grisius, Hunter Hook, Natalie Keene, Mason Mohr, Olivia Weymouth, Zachary Wild and Brandon Youngren are part of the Junior/Senior Honor Band. Raziah Ali leads the list for the Freshman/Sophomore Honor Band along with Lucas Baut and others.
Representing Plainfield North High School are Jeffrey Choate and Ethan Clark among others in the Junior/Senior Honor Band. Analeigh Allen is part of those performing in the Freshman/Sophomore category alongside other talented peers.
Lastly from Plainfield East High School: Giann Aligno and Madison Barber head up their school's contribution to the Junior/Senior Honor Band while Caitlin Hill leads freshmen like Gabriela Hodges in their performances as part of the younger group.
