The Plainfield North High School Marching Tigers secured their first Illinois State Championship on October 11, 2025, at Illinois State University. The band was named Class 5A Champions and received top awards for Music Performance and General Effect, competing against other leading high school ensembles from across the state.

“This performance is a testament to the many hours of dedication that our students, band staff, and parents have contributed to the program,” said PNHS Director of Bands Tim Hatcher. “We work hard to better ourselves every day, and the students take tremendous pride in their efforts.”

The Marching Tigers will present their award-winning show at the annual Community Night Performance on Thursday, October 23, at 7:30 p.m. in the PNHS Stadium.

Plainfield North High School serves students in grades 9 through 12 and had an enrollment of 2,309 during the 2019-2020 school year. The school is located in Plainfield, Will County. According to the Illinois Report Card, 26.4 percent of students were in grade 9 during that year, with other grades making up the remainder of the student body. The student population included 66 percent white students, 6.8 percent black students, 13.2 percent Hispanic students, and 9.1 percent Asian students (https://www.illinoisreportcard.com/).
