The Plainfield Fire Protection District has announced the opening of applications for the position of Firefighter/Paramedic. Those interested in serving their community and helping others are invited to apply.

Applications became available on July 16, 2025, and must be submitted by August 22, 2025. All submissions should be made through www.iosolutions.com.

To qualify, applicants must meet several criteria: they must be at least 20 years old (21 at time of hire), possess a valid driver's license, hold U.S. citizenship, have a high school diploma or equivalent, have CPAT certification, and be certified as a paramedic at the time of hire (or enrolled in paramedic school at the time of application). Additionally, candidates need to be certified as an OSFM Basic Operations Firefighter (BOF) / Firefighter II (FFII) or hold an equivalent qualification.
