President's Award honors Class of 2025 for academic excellence
Darnell Weathers, Assistant Principal for Building and Grounds | Plainfield North High School

Founded in 1983, the President's Education Awards Program (PEAP) recognizes graduating students from elementary, middle, and high schools for their academic achievements. The program offers individual recognition from the President and the U.S. Secretary of Education to students who have met challenging standards of excellence. Thousands of high schools participate annually by acknowledging deserving students.

The award highlights academic success, with each school district setting specific eligibility criteria. In PSD202, seniors must achieve a GPA of 4.5 or higher on a 5.0 scale over seven semesters and an SAT score of at least 1280 on the April 2024 school test date to qualify for the President's Award for Academic Excellence. These students received their certificates during diploma pickup after graduation.
