At around 8:10 p.m. on Wednesday, the Western Will County Communication Center (WESCOM) received a 911 call regarding a fire at a single-family home in the 25100 block of W. Pauline Drive, Plainfield.
Firefighters arriving first discovered the fire in the basement of the residence. They swiftly deployed a hose line to extinguish the flames. The family residing in the home managed to escape without injury. The fire was determined to be accidental, and the damage is estimated at $75,000.
The Plainfield Fire Protection District received assistance from the Troy Fire Protection District and the Joliet Fire Department at the scene.
