The Village of Plainfield convened on November 25 to deliberate on the development of the Trammell project.
According to the proposal, Crow seeks annexation and zoning approvals for a multi-building park covering 4.9 million square feet across approximately 340 acres. The site is located west of Steiner Road, between Illinois Route 126 (Lockport Street) to the south and 143rd Street to the north. This extensive development will be executed in phases over several years as Crow aims to secure build-to-suit end-users or develop speculative buildings.
Currently, the area is zoned for agricultural use. The proposed new zoning classification is I-1, which designates Office, Research, and Light Industrial use.
The Plan Commission reviewed this case on July 2, 2024, during a public hearing that was duly notified. All requests received unanimous approval with a vote of 5-0.
Staff members said that the proposed project represents a "logical extension of the Village's boundaries." They noted that the development complies with Plainfield's Zoning Code and aligns with the Village Comprehensive Plan. The Plan Commission recommends approval.
