District high schools prepare for annual madrigal concerts

District 202 high schools are preparing to host their annual Madrigal Concerts this December. These events will take place at various locations, offering performances that blend music with medieval themes.

Plainfield High School-Central Campus is set to hold its 46th annual Madrigal Performance on Friday, December 6, and Saturday, December 7, at 6:30 p.m. in the school's auditorium located at 24120 W. Fort Beggs Drive, Plainfield. The evening will feature vocal ensembles such as the Madrigal Singers and Madrigal Trouveres, along with instrumentalists. Tickets for this event are priced at $10 and include dessert.

Plainfield East High School will present its Madrigal Performance with a meal on Saturday, December 7, and Sunday, December 8. Shows are scheduled for both days at 1:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., taking place in the auditorium at 12001 S. Naperville Road, Plainfield. Tickets cost $25 and include a meal.

Plainfield South High School invites attendees to “A Merry Madrigal Magical Christmas” on Saturday, December 7, at 6 p.m., and Sunday, December 8, at 2 p.m., held in the auditorium located at 7800 W. Caton Farm Road, Plainfield. The event promises an evening filled with magic and music as characters compete for the title of Court Magician. General admission tickets are available for $10 while Blue House student tickets cost $5.

Finally, Plainfield North High School will present “Crown & Chaos: A Madrigal Concert” on Friday, December 13, and Saturday, December 14 at 7 p.m., in the auditorium situated at 12005 S. 248th Ave., Plainfield. Tickets for this performance are priced at $5.
