Plainfield Area Public Library introduces 3D printing services for patrons

Alicia Malec Trustee | Plainfield Fire Protection District

The Plainfield Area Public Library is now offering 3D printing services to its patrons. This service aims to introduce users to additive manufacturing technology, providing a hobby-level experience. The library states, "We will do our best to accommodate your requests, but we cannot guarantee a particular level of precision."

Patrons are advised to review the rules before submitting their requests. The library's 3D printer cannot be used for creating weapons or materials that could cause harm. Additionally, the library will not be liable for any functional failures or injuries resulting from objects made using their 3D printer. They caution against using the printer for objects that could be harmful or incur significant costs if they fail.

For more information or questions regarding the service, patrons can contact the Adult Services Desk at 815-327-2515 or via email at info@papl.info.
