Sixteen seniors from District 202 high schools have been recognized as "commended" students in the 2025 National Merit Scholarship Program. This program, managed by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC), is a nationwide competition that acknowledges students for their academic potential.
Although these students will not advance in the 2025 competition for National Merit Scholarships, they are among approximately 34,000 Commended Students across the country who are celebrated for their outstanding academic promise. These students scored in the top 50,000 out of over 1.3 million participants who entered the competition by taking the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test in 2023.
The following District 202 students have earned recognition as "National Merit Scholarship Commended Students":
From Plainfield High School – Central Campus: Ubaldo Rodriguez.
From Plainfield South High School: Kyle W. Puckett and Lance M. Valera.
From Plainfield North High School: Alexander Gaull, Mia Gonzalez, Suha Khan, Yunus Khan, Prakul Madaan, and Brady Mitchell.
From Plainfield East High School: Aadam Tayeb, Nathan D. Matzig, Nora E. Ingram, Matthew E. Deng, Ariella L. Delapena, Jack R. Brelsford, and Madison B. Barber.
