District 202 high schools ready fall plays featuring diverse themes

District 202 high schools are preparing for their fall theatrical productions, set to feature a range of genres including comedy, mystery, and parody. The performances will take place in November across the district's four high school auditoriums.

Plainfield High School - Central Campus will present "She Kills Monsters" on November 15 and 16 at 6:30 p.m., with additional matinee performances on November 15 and 16 at 1:30 p.m. The play follows Agnes Evans as she navigates the world of Dungeons & Dragons to cope with her sister Tilly's death. Tickets are priced at $8 for adults and $5 for students and seniors, available at the door.

Plainfield South High School will stage "Murder in the Heir" on November 22 and 23 at 7 p.m., with a matinee on November 24 at 2:30 p.m. This interactive murder mystery allows the audience to vote on the identity of the killer during intermission. Ticket prices are $7 for adults and $5 for students, seniors, veterans, active military personnel, and children under five.

Plainfield North High School is set to perform "The Holiday Channel Movie Christmas Wonderthon" on November 15 and 16 at 7 p.m., with a performance on November 17 at 2 p.m. The play is a parody of holiday romantic comedies set in Hopewood Falls, Vermont. Tickets can be purchased online or at the venue for $9 for adults and $7 for students, children, and seniors.

Lastly, Plainfield East High School will showcase "You Can’t Take It With You" from November 14-16 at 7 p.m., with a final show on November 17 at 2 p.m. The story revolves around Grandpa Vanderhof’s eccentric family as they prepare to meet new in-laws. Tickets are available online or at the door for $8 for adults and $5 for staff, students, seniors, and children under five.
