District 202 is set to host an event focused on family well-being on October 23, 2024, at Heritage Grove Middle School in Plainfield. The Plainfield Parent Community Network (PPCN) will present a program titled “Building a Brighter Tomorrow Together: Resources You Need to Know About for Promoting Your Family’s Mental, Emotional, and Physical Well-being."
The event will commence with a resource fair at 6 p.m., followed by the main program at 6:30 p.m. Attendees will be introduced to various not-for-profit organizations that collaborate with District 202 to support the mental, emotional, and physical health of students and families.
After the presentation, audience members will have the opportunity to ask questions. The event will also be streamed live on YouTube and recorded for later viewing on the PPCN website.
While registration is not mandatory, it is recommended through an online form. Among the resources scheduled to appear are Bags of Hope, Elyssa’s Mission, Glenbard Parent Series, Heart Haven Outreach, Plainfield Junior Woman’s Club, Plainfield Lions Club, Referral GPS, Schoolhouse Counseling Center, and Thriveworks.
The PPCN was established in fall 2016 by District 202 social workers and educators to address common parenting needs. A committee of district administrators and community members oversees its activities.
Professional development credits will be available for certified educators attending this program.
